Neons On Your Ride
Most car owners today add neon lights to the side skirts of their and the front and back bumpers of their cars. This practice is greatly influenced by the movie " The Fast and The Furious" and all its sequels as well as from the game "Need For Speed:Underground" and all its sequels.
The addiction of neon lights is a very cheap and effective way to pimp out the looks of your car. There are some cheap alternatives to neon lights, such as LED lights, but the effect that you get is not as good. You know what they say, you get what you paid for.
Good and cheap neon lights can be easily found on eBay, and when you think about it anything that has to do with anything can be found on eBay. In a previous post I wrote about Lamborghini Styled Doors, and there I gave a link to an eBay seller that sells cheap door hinges so that you can convert your ride to a Lamborghini Styled one. So this is one more cheap way ti enhance the looks of your car and you can find it on eBay!

2008 Mercedes GLK-Class Spy Shots
These shots were taken by Hans G. Lehmann and are of the all new GLK-class of Mercedes. The new SUV by the German giant is meant to compete with the BWM X3 and Audi's upcoming Q5. This is the reason why the new Mercedes GLK will be smaller the the usual SUVs made by Mercedes and it will hopefully be more affordable.
Peugeot 308 Spy Shots
These are the three spy shots that are the first official images of the Peugeot 308, which is set to make its debut on the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The pictures are taken by Automedia.
The Peugeot here is hidden with the green covers, because the guys from the company don't want the public to know that its the new car. These pictures were taken while the company was at Africa trying to shoot a commercial.

Volvo coming out with new SUV 2009
The new SUV that Volvo is supposed to launch for mass production in 2009 will be called the XC60 . The new SUV is supposed to be a rival to Land Rover's Freelander. This new car is not officially announced, but the UK magazine publisher autoexpress has "spy" pictures of it. They say and I quote " At first glance, the car in our spy pictures looks like an ordinary XC70. But look closely, and you'll notice it's a test mule wearing a raised and shortened version of the estate's body."
This is a bald move by Volvo as they are not as experienced as Land Rover in making SUVs but I think, based on the cars that they make, that the SUV should be nice, however I don't think it will be able to match up to the Freelander, but thats just me.
The Volvo SUV XC60 will be have a all-wheel-drive system focused for on-road driving because of the fact that Volvo is trying to make more sales. This feature will hopefully make people prefer the XC60 over a regular car. The SUV will be borrowing the Freelander's 128bhp 2.2 L diesel engine, making the SUV a gas burner. Over all the XC60 appears to be nice, but if you prefer class and heritage, then you will definetly get a Land Rover

Audi R8 - Audi's Sports Car
This brand new car from Audio totally changes the way people see Audi, and totally change Audi's image. This new car goes against everything that Audi has ever made, and this was exactly what they were going for. Audi is currently trying to increase its sails in the U. S. because the car doesn't have a good image here. Audi engineers hope that the new sporty look of the car will help Audi's marked in America.
The Audi R8 isn't just innovative on the outside, but on the inside as well. The dashboard includes all the gadgets that you would expect from the S class of Mercedes, or the new Lamborghinis, but now Audi has it too. All these new innovations would probably explain the mind blowing price tag of $112,000 which very few people can afford.
I would say that this car is worth every dollar that they ask for because, first of all it is a German car and everybody knows what that means, and second of all it has a 420 hp , V-8 engine that will blow your mind, making The R8 a real sports car by any standard!

Civic 'Cossie' - Better then the Type-R
When the Honda Civic Type-R came out it was the hottest and sportiest Honda out there. Now the news for the competition got even worst. The engineers from Japan have came up with a new Honda to compete with the Ford Escort Cosworth. As you can see from the picture above, as far as looks go, the Honda Type-R-R or also known as 'Cossie' , has beat the Ford by a lot!
When the new Honda Type-R-R was being created the engineers took the basic Type-R and made some serious modifications to it so that it can not only look more sporty, but actually perform like some of the top sports cars. To achieve that Honda reduced the weight of the car to a minimum. They did that by removing anything from the car that is not absolutely necessary, and there were quite a few things that were removed. The major thing that has been removed from the original Type-R to form the new Type-R-R is the car stereo, and also the sound deadening. To some people these things are very important, but I personally would trade a stereo for some extra torque or a few extra miles added to the top speed. Honda also added new sports seats so that the car is more comfortable for the driver, and so that he can see and maneuver better. The suspension of the car has also been lowered to give the car a even sportier look and better grip of the road.
The most fascinating thing about the new Honda is its engine. The engine of the Type-R-R is supposed to be a secret, but the Honda engineers couldn't keep something so awesome to themselves so they shared the news. The new engine in the car is a 2.0 liter i-VTEC , and for Honda this is something new, because there engines are usually smaller. What is more unusual then this sit that the engine has 250bhp, which is amazing for any car, let alone for a car that has such great weight reduction! In order to get the most of the engines power the new Honda comes standardly equipped with a ECU to help fuel distribution at the different RPMs and to there for help fuel economy.
The new Honda also has a brand new gear system, which allows a 80 millisecond gear change, which means that if this car needs to go fast it can do it very quickly, just by simply flooring the gas and going trough the gears really fast!
The Honda Type-R-R is the best sports Honda so far, because it took all the good things from the originally good Type-R, and replaced all the flaws that it had to make what some will call a masterpiece!

Ford recalls 527,000 Escape SUVs
Ford is recalling 527,000 Escape sport-utility vehicles because of a problem in the antilock braking system that could cause fires, the company said Tuesday.
Missing or incorrectly installed wiring harness seals on the Escape's antilock brake connector could allow water and other contaminates such as brake fluid or road salt to enter the ABS connector causing corrosion.
The corrosion, in turn, could "lead to an illuminated ABS warning indicator, an open fuse, and in some rare instances smoking, melting or burning of the electrical ABS connector," the company said in a statement.
The recall affects 444,880 Escapes from the 2001-2004 model years in the U.S., as well as 82,000 Escapes in Canada, Mexico and Europe, Ford said.
The hybrid version of the Escape is not included in the recall, although the Mazda Tribute, which is essentially a twin of the Ford Escape, is being included, according to spokesperson Kristen Kinley.
Ford said there had been about no reported accidents or injuries. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been investigating the issue.
Under the recall, Ford dealers will inspect the antilock braking system for corrosion and replace it if necessary.

New York Auto Show - Impreza saloon booted out in UK!
Neither the four-door version of the new car nor the sporty WRX variant will make it to British showrooms.
We revealed details of the all-new line-up last week (Top Story, Issue 955), and the family car was displayed at the New York Motor Show in both hatchback and saloon guises. However, the booted model won't come to the UK as the brand seeks to rival the Honda Civic and VW Golf, which both sell in greater numbers with five doors rather than four.
A spokesman said: "We've sold more saloons in the UK as our rally car has always been a four-door, but the next WRC Impreza will be a hatch."
While normally aspirated 1.5 and 2.0-litre five-doors arrive towards the end of the year, performance fans will have to wait until 2008 for the hot STi model. This will deliver 300bhp from its turbocharged 2.5-litre boxer engine.
That means the 225bhp WRX available in the US will be axed here. "We're trying to sell more normally aspirated cars and lower the range's average CO2 output," added the spokesman.

The Best Cars of 2006 - Chrysler 300
This is a big, beefy sedan that's American and proud of it. Sounds simple, but that cupboard was bare for years before Chrysler released its award-winning 300.
Some say that the 300's success is only about its signature grille and muscle-man styling, but it's equally about the muscle under the hood, in the form of the optional 340-horsepower Hemi V-8. Some of the car's excellence can be traced to corporate sibling Mercedes-Benz, which had a hand in the transmission and suspension.
Flaws are few, including mediocre plastics inside and a center control panel with too many dinky buttons. The Hemi shuts down half its cylinders during cruising to boost mileage, though fuel- and price-conscious buyers should check out the 3.5-liter V-6 version.

The Best Cars of 2006 - Audi A6
Judging a luxury car comes down to how well it can juggle. Can it excel in design, performance, features, quality -- all while leaving you thoroughly entertained?
Among $40,000 to $65,000 sedans, the Audi A6 deserves top billing. The four-wheel-drive four-door topped our recent test of five mid-size luxury cars (January 2006) by perfectly balancing beauty and brawn, comfort and sportiness.
The body is modern but not too flashy; the sleek and comfy cabin again asserts Audi's leading position in interior design; the switches and knobs don't feel at all plasticky or flimsy. The 335-hp, 4.2-liter V-8 model is certainly potent, but it's the 255-hp, 3.2-liter V-6 that offers the most muscle for the dollar: That engine has a healthy amount of power but also delivers fuel economy of 21 mpg in city driving and 29 mpg on the highway.

The Best Cars of 2006 - Honda Accord
Despite strong new competition from Toyota and Ford, Honda still sits at the head of the family-sedan table. The Accord is as roomy, comfortable and safe as its main rivals yet still feels more sporty and refined whenever the road throws you a curve.
Four-cylinder, 166-hp models are so smooth, affordable and economical that there's little reason to opt for the 244-hp V-6. The 2006 model gets a mild makeover for the exterior and interior, including new rear-end styling, as well as a new steering wheel, driver's gauges and seat fabrics.
All Accords feature side- and side-curtain air bags, six-cylinder models add standard electronic stability control, and the EX V-6 now offers a six-speed manual transmission.

The Best Cars of 2006 - BMW 3 Series
After serious challenges from Infiniti and Lexus, BMW released a new 3 Series last year, and its subtle gains in power, braking and handling have vaulted the four-door to the top of the pack once again.
The new 3.0-liter inline-six engine now produces 255 horsepower for the 330i. The small four-door remains one of the best handling cars on the road, period.
The interior isn't groundbreaking, but at least BMW's oft-lambasted iDrive controller (a big console-mounted knob that operates almost everything in the car -- and does so in a confusing fashion) is an option here, one you can happily skip.

The Best Cars of 2006
In the next couple of days I will be covering the best cars of 2006, based CNN.
Today's car is Mazda 3. Here is what Money Magazine said about it:
Any shortlist of compact cars is sure to include the Toyota Corolla and the all-new 2006 Honda Civic, but the Mazda 3 is simply a cut above. It's practical and easy on gas, but also stylish and fun to drive.
Sedan shoppers can choose the 3i model's 150-hp, 2.0-liter 4 or the 3s model's 2.3-liter 4 with 160 hp. The handsome five-door hatch gets the 2.3-liter only; that engine is paired with a new five-speed automatic and anti-lock brakes, both of which are standard.
Options include a navigation system and satellite radio. Go easy on extras and a well-equipped 3 can be had for $16,000 to $17,000.
Expect more soon.
